Shortly before its season 3 premiere exclusively on Netflix in July 2019, the series has reportedly already been renewed for season 4 and the creator of the show is also working on an exclusive new show for the streaming service too.
The renewal comes long before part 3 has even aired and comes at a bit of a surprise given that Alex Pina is working on another Netflix Original series due out in 2020. Alex Pina is a name you’ll be seeing on Netflix for many years to come given he signed an exclusive deal with Netflix last year.
The news came from a press conference last week where Alex Pina confirmed the fourth part of the show had already begun filming.
Money Heist became an instant success after Netflix picked it up to air internationally. The first two seasons had aired on Antenna 3 in Spain before becoming a full Netflix Original for season 3. Season 3 of Money Heist is due out on Netflix on July 19th, 2019.
What to expect from Money Heist season 4
We don’t have too much of an idea of what to expect from season 4. The series looks to be retaining a two season loop which could mean that we see our characters still stuck in their new heist by the end of season 3.
Alex Pina did tease that we wouldn’t be seeing all of the new and old characters coming back saying (roughly translated):
“Fiction and platforms have changed, before there was a pact in which each character had a guardian angel that made the audience view the series more comfortably,”
We’ll update this post with our theories and more on what to expect after we’ve seen the third season.
When will season 4 of Money Heist release on Netflix?
Naturally, with season 3 not even being out yet, there’s no release date announced so far for season 4 of Money Heist.
The good news is that Alex Pina confirmed that filming and production directly followed part 3 which wrapped up earlier this year. That means we can definitely expect part 4 to be added to Netflix in 2020.
