Childish Gambino, a.k.a Donald Glover, a.k.a mcDJ, became a sensation through his brilliant song, This is America. However, he had already received widespread recognition through his work in ‘Atlanta’, a show that actively discusses the race relations and other issues that have taken centre-stage in his hard-hitting song. The series stars Glover as Earnest Marks, an ordinary black man in Atlanta, Georgia, the breeding ground for upcoming rappers, who looks to reconnect with his family and friends and repair the damage his actions have caused.
The show upon its premiere in 2016 was been well received by the audience and the critics alike. It has won two Golden Gloves and two Primetime Emmy Awards, with Glover winning for his performance in the series, becoming the first African-American to win an award in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The series is created by Glover, who also executive produces it alongside Dianne McGunigle, Paul Simms and Stephen Glover.

The ‘Robbin Season’, as season two was called, featured the main cast led by Donald Glover and had some great new additions who spiced up the story. Kevin Waterman’s addition as the Sinister man surely came as a shock to many and was a pleasant surprise for the viewers. Apart from him, there weren’t many notable additions to season two, while the core of season one was carried forward in the Robbin’ season. If season three is to take place, the main cast of Glover, Stanfield, Beetz, and Henry will definitely reprise their roles. Other important recurring characters like Raleigh, Swiff, and Dave will come back in supporting roles.
