‘Good Witch’ is an American/Canadian fantasy comedy-drama television series that is based on the made-for-TV movie series of the same name. It airs on Hallmark Channel and first premiered on February 28, 2015. The show is created by Craig Pryce and Sue Tenney based on characters created by Rod Spence. For the most part, the series is filmed in Toronto, Ontario. It is produced by Whizbang Films which works in association with ITV Studios and Hallmark Channel. ‘Good Witch’ has makers Pryce and Tenney as executive producers alongside Catherine Bell, Orly Adelson, Jonathan Eskenas, and Frank Siracusa.

The show follows Cassie Nightingale, a (Good) witch who lives in Middleton, the United States with her teenage daughter Grace. Their lives change as suspecting new neighbors move in next door. The series is one of the best performers for Hallmark Channel in terms of ratings. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and is popular among fans of this sub-genre. For those unaware, ‘Good Witch’ remains one of Hallmark Channel’s longest-running scripted shows, besides their flagship show ‘When Calls the Heart’, which is headed into its sixth season.

Good Witch Plot: What is it about?

‘Good Witch’ revolves around Cassie Nightingale and her daughter Grace, as they lead spirited lives in Middleton, which is soon disrupted when their neighbors, the Radfords move in, and the relationships become real complicated, real quick. However, to truly understand where the show’s plot is coming from, one must have an inkling about what happened in the ‘The Good Witch’ since this show is just a continuation of the events that were shown previously.

In ‘The Good Witch’, the movie, we see Cassie move into Grey House, an old abandoned building in Middleton. Being a small town, folks soon begin to talk and Jake Russell, the Police Chief Inspector is asked to look into the matter. In the meanwhile, Cassie displays certain unnatural abilities, like calming an agitated dog with merely her words. This coupled with the fact that she dabbles in vials, potions, and herbs from all around the world, lead the townspeople to believe that she is a witch and some even feel that she practices black magic. While Cassie is indeed an enchantress, there is nothing sinister about her powers, and naturally, she feels unwanted due to the hostile behavior of the people. Planning to leave town, she is convinced to stay back by Jake. Jake ultimately develops feelings for this mysterious and beautiful woman and the two get together.
