The child sexual abuse claims against Jackson began way back in 1993 when a father of a 13-year-old boy filed a case against him alleging that the pop star had molested his child. Jackson reached an out-of-court settlement of $23 million with them. Although they had defended Jackson earlier when the cases were raised in court, in this documentary, they claim that whatever they said in court was false and that Jackson had indeed performed numerous sexual acts on them at Neverland. This Netflix original documentary series focuses on the famous American criminal known as the pizza bomber. The series focuses on the crime which is now considered one of the most bizarre in FBI history. The incident happened in 2003 when an attempted robbery led to the police arresting a man known as Brian Wells. Wells had a bomb strapped around his neck at the time of his arrest and was made to sit on the pavement as police cleared the pedestrians. The bomb went off and killed Wells before the bomb squad could reach the place. The police believed Wells was part of a gang of robbers that included Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong and Kenneth Barnes though his family refutes the claims. The two other co-conspirators were later arrested by the police. The docu-series received positive acclaim from all corners.

‘American Experience’ includes several documentaries on people and events that have had the greatest impact on American life and culture. Many of the documentaries in this program were hugely acclaimed by critics. One of the most shocking cases discussed in this series is that of Surinder Koli, a man who came to Delhi, India where he worked at the house of a rich businessman. Taking advantage of the fact that the owner hardly stays in the house, Koli ended up murdering and cannibalizing close to 19 kids in the house’s basement.

4. The Innocent Man (2018)

Based on the John Grisham book called ‘The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town’, this series documents the life of Ron Williamson after he was wrongfully accused and arrested of killing and raping a woman along with one of his friends. Williamson was convicted of the crime and had to spend around 11 years on death row. This did irreparable damage to his psychology and he ended up suffering from various mental disorders. Later, it was revealed that the evidence and witnesses submitted by the authorities were quite flimsy and he was finally exonerated by the court after more than a decade. Notably, the authorities never apologized to Williamson for the harm they caused him in the first place.

3. Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (2019)

Created and directed by Joe Berlinger, this four-part miniseries documents the life and crimes of one of the most notorious serial killers in history, Ted Bundy. When the series starts, the first cases that are covered are the abduction, rape, and murder cases of two girls around the University of Washington. The bodies were found much later and nobody had any idea about what happened to them or who their killer was. Later, we see one of Bundy’s girlfriends reporting to the police that she suspects her boyfriend is up to no good. The suspicion is confirmed when one woman who manages to escape from Bundy’s clutches reports him to the police. The series also follows the Chi Omega sorority house murders by Bundy and his escapes from jail; once from a courthouse and on the other occasion, from the roof of his jail cell. The series received mixed reviews from critics.

2. Nine For IX (2013)

‘Nine for IX’ focuses on the lives of several important sports personalities outside of their area of expertise. Important events in their lives or how they have affected the lives of others are the subjects of discussion.
