Contestants who wish to showcase their talents, participate in the initial auditions, where they have to impress a panel of judges so that they can proceed to the live episodes. The shortlisted contestants compete against each other, with an aim to win the judges’ approval and audience votes. The final winner is awarded a cash prize and gets a chance to perform in the Royal Variety Performance, held before the British Royal Family. ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is, in fact, UK’s biggest television talent competition, and forms an important part of the country’s popular culture.
