Upcoming Hannah John-Kamen New Movies / TV Shows (2019, 2020)

Hannah John-Kamen was born into a diverse household as the youngest daughter of a Nigerian psychologist father and a Norwegian mother who was a fashion model. After completing her education at Hull body college and a short stint with the National Youth Theater in London, she joined the Central College of Speech and Drama. She started her career as a voice actress for the 2011 video game ‘Dark Souls.’

The young actress appeared in projects such as ‘Misfits’ (2011), ‘Whitechapel’ (2012), ‘The Syndicate’ (2012), ‘The Midnight Beast’ (2012), and ‘The Hour’ (2012). In 2015. John-Kamen got her first breakthrough with the SyFy series ‘Killjoys.’ In the next year, she played a guest role in HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones.’ Her additional credits include an episode of the anthology series ‘Black Mirror,’ the British series ‘The Tunnel’, Steven Spielberg’s ‘Ready Player One,’ and the Marvel superhero film ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp.’ With that said, in case you were wondering what is the next Hannah John-Kamen movie or tv show, you are at the right place. 5. Killjoys (2015 – )

Syfy’s hit space adventure series enters its fifth and final season while the fan-favorites RAC trio braces up for more action. Set in the futuristic planetary unit consists of the dwarf planet Qresh and its three moons, which are collectively called “the Quad,” the plot follows the three bounty hunters Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen), John (Aaron Ashmore) and D’avin (Luke Macfarlane), who operate under the Reclamation Apprehension Coalition (RAC). They are entrusted with enormous authority by an interplanetary corporation which reigns over every aspect of life on the small planet.

By the end of season 4, the RAC trio hit with their biggest backlash when The Lady cut loose. She is expected to spread havoc with a vengeance in the upcoming season which will also close the loose threads and mysteries that remain to be solved. Created by Michelle Lovretta, ‘Killjoys’ also features Nguyen as Delle Seyah, Thom Allison as Pree, Sean Baek as Fancy, Rob Stewart as Khlyen, Patrick Garrow as Turin, and Kelly McCormack as Zeph. The final season of the series airs on Syfy on July 19, 2019,

4. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019 – )

The upcoming remake of the 1982 cult film of the same name, ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’ is one of the hotly-anticipated Netflix original series of the year. Touted as a prequel to the original film, the plot follows three young Gelfings named Rian (Taron Egerton), Brea (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Deet (Nathalie Emmanuel) who embark on an adventure to save the World of Thra from the iron fist of the villainous Skeksis.

While a mysterious pandemic devours the people of Thra and danger lurks in every nook and corner, the three Gelfings have to find the secret of the power of Skeksis before it’s too late. The series features an ensemble voice cast that includes Keegan-Michael Key, Alicia Vikander, Helena Bonham Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Awkwafina, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Hannah John-Kamen plays the character of Naia in ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,’ which is created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. Netflix will premiere the series on August 30, 2019.

3. SAS: Red Notice (TBA)

Hannah John-Kamen will be seen alongside Ruby Rose, Andy Serkis, Tom Wilkinson, and Sam Heughan in the upcoming action thriller ‘SAS: Red Notice.’ Based on the book series ‘Red Notice’ by former soldier and author Andy McNab, the plot follows Tom Buckingham (Heughan) whose nuptial preparations are entangled with a deadly insurgent scheme to hijack a train and blow up a tunnel.

The movie also features  Rose as Grace, the scion of a private company with business interests in military supplies, Serkis as Clements, a liaison officer for the Prime Minister and Wilkinson as Lewis, the patriarch of the company giant. Hannah John-Kamen plays the role of Dr. Sophie Hart, who finds herself in the eye of the storm while evil men prepare for the final showdown. ‘SAS: Red Notice’ is directed by Magnus Martens from a screenplay by Laurence Malkin and Chad Thumann. Deadline reports that the movie has wrapped production in London in February 2019.

2. The Stranger (TBA)

Hannah John-Kamen teams with Siobhan Finneran and Richard Armitage for the upcoming Netflix series ‘The Stranger.’ Based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Harlan Coben, the plot centers on the shadowy character ‘The Stranger (John-Kamen) who breaks open people’s personal secrets for the sheer joy of exposing them and turning their family lives upside down. Armitage plays the role of Adam Price, who falls victim of The Stranger’s secretive mission. He finds himself in the midst of a pile of lies, deception and infidelity when The Stranger exposes a shocking secret about his wife.

Finneran portrays the character of detective Johanna Griffin. Jennifer Saunders, Anthony Head and Stephen Rea also play Key roles in the series. Nicola Shindler executive produces the eight-part series along with Coben and Danny Brocklehurst and Richard Fee. The streamer hasn’t set a premiere date for ‘The Stranger,’ which is currently filming.

1. Brave New World (2020 – )

‘Brave New World’ is a television series adaptation of the 1931 novel of the same name by Aldous Huxley from UCP and Amblin Television for USA Network. Hannah John-Kamen joins the cast that includes Kylie Bunbury, Sen Mitsuji, Joseph Morgan, Nina Sosanya, and Alden Ehrenreich. Set in a futuristic utopian community, the plot explores the peaceful societal life that achieved by curtailing monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history.

Fed up with the suffocating and rigid social order prevailing in the real world, and eager to enjoy the fiesta of a carefree living, two friends set out for a vacation to the New World. But they find themselves in the midst of a bloody uprising that disrupts the peace and stability the New World is famous for. David Wiener, Grant Morrison and Brian Taylor adapted the screenplay based on the novel. USA Network is expected to air the series in 2020.
