In 2001, she appeared as the love interest of three men played by Matt Dillon, John Goodman and Paul Reiser, in ‘One Night at McCool’s.’ When ‘Lord of the Rings’ creator Peter Jackson came across the actress’ portrayal of the character of Lady Rebecca Gibson in ‘Plunkett & Macleane,’ he tapped her for the 2001 film ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,’ to play the Elf, Arwen Undómiel. In 2008, she played the lead role of Dr. Betty Ross in ‘The Incredible Hulk’ opposite Edward Norton.
