London born actress Tilda Swinton was a schoolmate and friend of Lady Diana Spencer at the West Heath Girls’ School, an expensive boarding school in London. The actress developed a strong discontent against boarding schools later, which culminated in her taking up the progressive schooling initiative. After graduating from Cambridge University in 1983, Swinton performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company for a while. She made her film debut with ‘Caravaggio’ directed by Derek Jarman in 1986. The critically acclaimed movie also inaugurated the successful professional partnership between Swinton and Jarman. Together, they made movies like ‘The Last of England’ (1987), ‘War Requiem’ (1989) and ‘Edward II’ (1991).

Swinton won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 1991 Venice Film Festival for her portrayal of the character Isabella in ‘Edward II.’ Swinton went on to become a regular collaborator in several avant-garde movies throughout the ’90s. Some of her major works during that period include ‘Orlando’ (1992), ‘Female Perversions’ (1996), ‘The Deep End (2001), and ‘Thumbsucker’ (2004).

Swinton also marked her presence in big budgeted blockbusters like ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ film franchise, in which she played the regular character of White Witch, ‘Michael Clayton’ (2007), ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ (2008), ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’ (2011), ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ (2012), ‘Doctor Strange‘ (2016), ‘Suspiria’ (2018), and ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ (2019). She earned an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 2007 flick ‘Michael Clayton.’

She also won the BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actress for the 2003 movie ‘Young Adam.’ In 2013, the Museum of Modern Art, New York City dedicated a special tribute to the actress for her outstanding contributions to the realm of art. So at this point you might be wondering what is the next Tilda Swinton movie or TV show?
