The official 007 YouTube channel has released a sneak peek into the behind the scenes action of ‘Bond 25’ movie on Tuesday. Tagged as “On set with Bond 25: Jamaica,” the footage showcases the production of the film in Jamaica accompanied by an energetic Caribbean beat in the background. The first look also hides some highly stylized looks of Daniel Craig as Bond. In one curious shot in the clip, his silhouette is seen slowly stalking someone with a gun.
Director Cary Joji Fukunaga also appears in between the shots from the set along with Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) and Lashana Lynch at work. The shooting was stalled after Craig’s car accident during filming in Jamaica. Craig underwent ankle surgery later in May.
While reports started pouring down speculating on the fate of the production, an official statement clarified that “Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020.”
The production goes through an eventful phase. A man was booked last weak on the set for allegedly hiding a spy camera in women’s toilets at Pinewood Studios in Iver Heath, which is known as Bond’s spiritual home. “We take this issue very seriously. We reported the incident to the police and are supporting them with their investigation,” the Studio said in a statement.
The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ actor Rami Malek, who plays the villain in the 25th Bond film, also shrugged off the rumors about problems on the set. “I haven’t shot with Daniel yet, but I’m thrilled to work with him. Daniel is an actor I greatly admire,” Malek told reporters. The upcoming untitled flick, which is provisionally called ‘Bond 25,’ had another blow when explosions damaged the set earlier this year.
Apart from Craig, the returning cast members include Lea Seydoux, who played Dr. Madeleine Swann in ‘Spectre,’ Ben Whishaw as Q., Ralph Fiennes as M., and Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny. Rory Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright, who appeared in ‘Spectre’ and ‘Quantum of Solace’ are also set to return for ‘Bond 25.’ The new cast members include Ana de Armas, Billy Magnussen, Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch, and David Dencik.
As per the tradition of ‘James Bond’ franchise, the title of the movie is kept under tight wraps. Instead, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have revealed crucial hints about the plot. According to THR, ‘Bond 25’ will follow 007 into Jamaica where he leads a peaceful life far from car chases, bullets, blasts, and enigmatic villains. But when his good old friend and CIA man, Felix Leiter turns up with a mission to rescue a scientist, Bond sets out for his next adventure.
The producer Eon Productions has announced that ‘Bond 25’ is set to hit screens on April 8, 2020, in the U.S. The much-awaited film arrived in the U.K. earlier on April 3, 2020.
