Now let’s move onto the highlights of today’s new Netflix releases:
Dark (Season 2) Netflix Original
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Cast: Oliver Masucci, Karoline Eichhorn, Jördis Triebel, Louis Hofmann
Runtime: 60 min
Language: German
Netflix has done well with its sci-fi foreign series with Dark possibly being the best foreign series on Netflix period.
The mindbending mystery series will continue to require a PHD degree to understand all of the complexities in its storytelling and demands multiple viewings but once again, comes with an incredible pay-off.
Better news yet, the series has been given a third season renewal that’s due out next year.
Shooter (Season 3)
Genre: Action, Drama
Cast: Ryan Phillippe, Shantel VanSanten, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Omar Epps
This is the third and final season of Ryan Phillippe’s portrayal in Shooter. The series comes to a climatic end as Bob Lee Swagger continues fighting for his life as the conspiracy hits even close to home than previous seasons.
Neon Genesis Titles
Genre: Anime
Multiple Neon Genesis animes came to Netflix today and they’re all worth your time. If you’re an anime fan, in fact, this is quintessential viewing for this weekend so make no excuses.
The streaming debuts of these titles have been promoted far and wide and rightly so. Here are the three anime titles now streaming on Netflix:
- The End of Evangelion (1997)
- EVANGELION: DEATH (TRUE)² (1998)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion (Season 1)
The Wolf’s Call
Genre: Action, Drama
Director: Abel Lanzac
Cast: François Civil, Omar Sy, Mathieu Kassovitz, Reda Kateb
Runtime: 115 min
Language: French
One title we missed yesterday was The Wolf’s Call. This pickup from France is a must-watch if you loved the likes of The Hunt for Red October and frankly, any military movie.
It sees a nuclear war on the horizon and it’s up to a small underwater submarine to avoid nuclear devastation.
