What’s New on Netflix: June 8th, 2019
Happy Saturday and welcome to your Saturday edition of what’s new on Netflix for June 8th, 2019. Three new additions were added to Netflix today and that’s on top of the fourteen added to Netflix yesterday. Here’s what’s new on Netflix for June 8th, 2019.
As of yet, we don’t know if there’ll be any new releases tomorrow (with the exception of a new episode of Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj) but we will have your weekly preview available so check back in our coming soon page for that.
Now here’s a look at the three new movies for June 8th, 2019.
Genre: Action, Drama, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Director: Kurt Wimmer
Cast: Christian Bale, Dominic Purcell, Sean Bean, Christian Kahrmann
Runtime: 107 min
Looking for a big action movie from the early naughties featuring some top talent? Then this re-addition to Netflix is for you.
Equilibrium is set in the future where emotions are controlled by a drug and anyone who displays emotion can be punished by death.
Longterm Netflixers will know that Equilibrium has streamed a while ago. In fact, it’s been three years since Equilibrium was last streaming on Netflix before it was removed in June 2016.
Beneath the Leaves (2019)
Director: Adam Marino
Cast: Mira Sorvino, Kristoffer Polaha, Doug Jones, Aaron Farb
Runtime: 90 min
This thriller is written and directed by Adam Marino and sees four boys from a small-town kidnapped by a psychopath who nobody suspected.
Sadly, the reviews for the movie have been less than stellar with one outlet saying “Hardly the most unique or original script that you will encounter, its exceptional team of actors give the production their all and it pays off.”
Berlin, I Love You (2019)
Genre: Drama, Romance
Director: Dianna Agron, Peter Chelsom, Fernando Eimbcke, Justin Franklin, Dennis Gansel, Dani Levy, Daniel Lwowski, Josef Rusnak, Til Schweiger, Massy Tadjedin, Gabriela Tscherniak
Cast: Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Luke Wilson, Jim Sturgess
Taking a page out of movies like Love Actually, this drama from earlier this year sees a big ensemble cast come together to tell ten romantic stories that are all set in the German capital, Berlin.
Sadly, like the movie we talked about above, this movie failed to strike a chord with critics. It’s only managed to get a measly 34 on Metacritic and is currently sitting at a 4.4/10 on IMDb.
