Anya Taylor-Joy and her husband, Malcolm McRae, are victims of a burglary at their London mansion
Actress Anya Taylor-Joy and her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, were recently subjected to a terrifying burglary while visiting a home in north London. The incident, reported by The Standard, took place on February 12, 2023, and involved two masked attackers who allegedly broke glass to gain entry.
According to sources, the robbers tried to get into the bedroom where Taylor-Joy, McRae, and McRae’s bandmate Kane Ritchotte were staying. Fortunately, no one was physically wounded, but the event rattled the occupants.
The leading suspect is Kirk Holdrick, 42, now held at Gartree Prison in Leicestershire. Holdrick has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to stand trial in September 2025 at Wood Green Crown Court in London. Following a judicial challenge by The Standard, Judge Kalyani Kaul KC relaxed reporting restrictions, allowing more information about the incident to be made public.
When the break-in occurred, Taylor-Joy and McRae were temporarily occupying the mansion, which is purportedly owned by a high-profile figure whose identity is protected.
Anya Taylor-Joy, praised for her breakout role in The Witch (2015), has grown in popularity with critical roles in Split, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Dune: Part 2. Her television career, including outstanding performances in Peaky Blinders and the award-winning Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, has solidified her as a rising Hollywood star.
