Billie Eilish Becomes Youngest Artist to Reach 100M Monthly Spotify Listeners

Billie Eilish has achieved another remarkable milestone, becoming the third artist and the youngest ever to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify. This achievement was confirmed by the audio streaming giant to Billboard on Saturday. Impressively, Eilish reached this milestone with a music catalog consisting of just 82 songs.

She joins The Weeknd, who has 107 million monthly listeners, and Taylor Swift, who has 102 million. However, both of these artists have more than twice the number of songs on Spotify compared to Eilish, known for hits like “Lunch.”

At 22, Eilish’s accomplishment highlights her rapid rise in the music industry. “Spotify has been a part of Billie’s story from the start. Ever since ‘Ocean Eyes,’ she has continuously grown her fan base around the world,” said Jeremy Erlich, Spotify’s global head of music. “What she and her brother and collaborator Finneas have achieved since 2016 is quite remarkable… and all this by the age of 22.”

Eilish, the “Birds of a Feather” singer, also boasts eight songs in Spotify’s Billions Club. These tracks include “Lovely” with Khalid (2.8 million streams), “Bad Guy” (2.5 million), “When the Party’s Over” (1.8 million), “Everything I Wanted” (1.6 million), “Ocean Eyes” (1.4 million), “Happier Than Ever” (1.3 million), “Idontwannabeyouanymore” (1.09 million), and “Bury a Friend” (1.01 million).

Her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, released last month, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. All 10 tracks from the album also entered the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Earlier this year, Eilish made history as the youngest two-time Oscar winner with her best original song win for “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie movie.
