Why Donna Leah Designs Feels that Giving Back is Always In Fashion: Launch of New T-shirt Collection
Donna Leah knows what it’s like to have a dream and want to go for it. From a young age she had a strong perspective on style and felt it was a way to express herself. At every stage, she followed her passion from attending the famed Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to launching her Donna Leah Designs brand. Her designs are deeply influenced by the city she lives in, Miami, and the people that give it a unique energy.
Recently learning about the work of the Milagro Center in Delray, Florida, she knew that action was necessary and immediately decided to launch a feel-good t-shirt line that supports the amazing work of this important community organization. The Milagro Center’s uniquely integrated programs focus on empowering children and their families to succeed, both in school and in life, having a resounding positive influence on the local community.
“Everyone needs to have a dream and be able to achieve it. My dream of becoming a designer has come true and I feel that now is the right time to help others. I was moved by the amazing work of the Milagro Center and the sense of empowerment they are able to provide to the community. It inspired me to create this line of t-shirts that helps bring awareness to the organization and much needed funds,” says Donna Leah, founder of Donna Leah Designs.
The shirt will retail for $30 and be available at www.DonnaLeahDesigns.com with 5% of the proceeds going to The Milagro Center. The first collection of benefit t-shirts will include a “Superhero” design, are soft and feature contemporary styling. Designs can also be found on Instagram.
Donna Leah designs for her “inner superhero” by embracing a love for bold colors and styles that make an unapologetic statement. “Donna Leah Designs sequin gowns feature a cape, and my loungewear collection features hoods that feel protective. The new t-shirt collection embraces the notions of empowerment, feeling good about yourself, and knowing that helping others is a part of who we are. The more I learned about the Milagro Center, the more inspired I became, and created a mission to help,” says Donna Leah.
Designer Donna Leah was born in New York into a loving yet socially conservative household where she spent many hours of her youth dreaming and drawing the types of clothing that she wanted to have – edgy designs with bold colors and metallics that captured light. From that early age, Donna Leah knew exactly what she wanted, never straying from her strong identity focused on nature’s colors, and personal values of self-acceptance and spirituality. Her designs showcase a deep appreciation for all aspects of art, culture, and the natural world around us, exploring the endless influence and energy found in Miami, where her company is headquartered, and beyond.
“It’s important to support each other and create a sense of strong community. We can be an essential part of inspiring others to do good and share the amazing feeling of giving back,” says Donna Leah.
