Taiwan’s four largest movie theater chain companies are joining forces to get into the manufacturing enterprise. The firms have united to make Bole Film, through which they intend to produce three to five theatrical films per year. The organizations have combined to form Bole Film, through which they plan to take three to five theatrical films each year.
Singaporean film company mm2 Entertainment also has built a relationship with all startup companies to offer production financing and worldwide market expertise.
The partners said Bole Film’s business model was made to induce domestic and foreign investment towards Taiwanese film and television programs, join local creators with foreign streaming programs and supply stations and enhance Taiwanese storytelling’s worldwide visibility.
MM2 Entertainment has agreed to invest an additional ten percent of the manufacturing cover Bole’s projects.
The theater operators combined in Bole control over 70 percent of Taiwan’s overall annual box office, so the spouses say their goal behind the studio is to pool their sales data to conduct massive data statistical investigations to develop movie themes that meet market demand.

Bole has revealed a starter slate that includes In Justice, a version of a bestselling book by Neil Wu, produced by Activator Marketing, the organization behind the 20 20 romantic hits I WeirDo. Other launching projects consist of Salli, also a Taiwanese and British Co-production about online scams in Taiwan which won the 2019 Golden Horse Film Project; an untitled puzzle thriller produced by Chen Wei-hao (The tagalong ) and led by Chen I-Fu (The Long Night); U Motherbaker, a big-screen version of this hit Taiwanese TV series from the 1990s; and an untitled love by Chen Wei-hao.
Said Dennis Wu, Bole’s founding chairman: “The establishment of Bole Film will provide valuable consumer advice to filmmakers. Therefore they can make much better quality articles that match well with what consumers want to see. Our job management services can also migrate the risks related to film investment, thereby increasing Taiwanese films’ profitability. This will hopefully attract more investors to be considering funding the grossing movie and tv market.”
TACCA Chairperson Ting Hsiao-Ching said in her opening comments that presenting consumer tastes and embracing a marketing outlook throughout early-stage creation is a crucial landmark for Taiwan’s film and television market.”
TING also mentioned that underneath the Ministry of Culture’s aid, TAICCA launched various programs to encourage the business, like the Youth Startup Loan Program and Credit Loan Program, for anybody from the cultural and creative industry using financial and investment needs. TAICCA also features an innovative Content Development Program (CCDP) and Taiwan’s International Co-funding Program (TICP) that provides a vast array of financing and funding solutions. Also, TAICCA would work with them to turn visions into reality.
Bole Film Chairman WU stated that Bole wouldn’t only provide consumer insights for creative teams to create films near advertise preferences and create high-quality picture and television works. The dedicated management group would also reduce investment risks, boost Taiwanese cinema profitability, and attract more investors to combine from the ranks of purchasing Taiwanese films.
For medium-sized regional films having complete funding of under NT$ 60 million, Bole will invest up to NT$ 10 million for each film. The goal is always to push out 3 to 5 Taiwanese films every year to drive domestic and foreign capital to get from the industrialization of this Taiwanese film and television industry. Bole will also join pictures to international OTT platforms and distribution stations, plan copyright pre-sale and distribution mechanics, to raise the worldwide visibility of Taiwanese films.
